Run United!
The Young Leaders Circle of United Way of Rhode Island invites you to RUN UNITED with us at the Citizens Bank Pell Bridge Run. Donations made to the United Way team will benefit children in afterschool programs throughout the state. Our goal is to raise $5,000 to support high-quality after school programs. Sadly, not every child in Rhode Island has a safe place to go when the bell rings at 3 p.m.; together we can help change this by supporting a classroom full of children.
Runners and walkers are welcome! By joining the United Way team through our website, you get 50% off the registration fee. All team members will also receive free shuttle transportation, team and official race t-shirts, and food and drink at the post-race festival at the Newport Yachting Center. Each United Way team member is asked to raise at least $100 through our team’s fundraising page. Online registration for the United Way team will open September 16.
Each and every program supported by United Way of Rhode Island is based on research, data, and accountability. Results for our afterschool programs show up in improved school attendance, better social behavior and increased engagement with learning. Last year, 87% of the nearly 2,000 students served through United Way-funded afterschool programs made academic gains. With your support, we can do even more.
