Rhode Races - Providence Public Art Running Tour

  • Providence, RI United States (map)

“ I dream of painting then I paint my dreams”  Van Gogh

Spring is right around the corner and that means warmer temperatures and the chance to get outside in the sunshine!!  Join us as we walk or run through the streets of Providence and visit the beautiful public art the city has to offer!  Take the audio tour and learn the story behind the art and the artist!

What is The Providence Public Art Running Tour

The Providence Public Art Running Tour is an opportunity to  immerse yourself  in culture while getting a workout in!!  We Partnered with The Avenue Concept to create an audio guided tour of the public art throughout downtown and the west side.  This includes the vibrant and beautiful murals that paint the walls of the concrete landscape, as well as sculptures tucked away on  street corners.

***$10 of every entry will be donated to The Avenue Concept to help fund these important public art experiences.

There are 2 routes that start and finish at The Tiny Bar in the jewelry district - a great spot post run or walk to socialize outdoors.  The first route is a 4 mile loop that starts downtown and runs through the west side, and the second is a 2.5 mile loop that tours the art downtown.  Both are runnable or walkable with various stops along the way to hear about the art itself.  The audio tour is available on the Rungo app that you can download for free.

This is not the time to set any land speed records, but rather an opportunity to inhabit the city in a different way.  We recommend taking a running or walking buddy along on this tour to share the experience.
