NK5K

Starting Line.

What's better than a 5k in a great community?  Not much. I just finished up the NK5k and managed to suppress any flashbacks from my High School days.  The course follows a route I've run probably 100 times, but that certainly doesn't make it any easier!

The race starts off at the local highschool and winds it's way through town passing by historic Wickford Village and near the local Town Beach.  With little by way of hills the course remains fairly flat aside from the one hill at 2.5.  It is a very well marked course with cones and volunteers abound so you will not go off course.  As a RunRhody production you get an elaborate start/finish line a very good MC and a well sung National Anthem.

Post race the awards ceremony is fantastic! Pizza from Ronzios, Bananas and some delicious snacks from Great Harvest Bread Company.  The awards came up quickly and there was no hanging around.

I thoroughly enjoy coming back to this race every year.  It brings back great memories High School and the teams I was pleased to be a part of.  I highly recommend it to everyone who enjoys running.  Rhode Runner is pleased to be a part of this event.  It's a great course in a fantastic community for a great cause (raising funds for local scholarships and funding local school sports).
