Providence Power Yoga Review
Providence Power Yoga Review
Thus far, this winter was one for the books! With spring starting today and snow on its way, I thought I would share a good alternative workout in case the roads are covered a bit too much for a run tomorrow. If you're looking for a good alternative workout to loosen up and strengthen I always find yoga to be a good choice.
Personally, I have been doing yoga for about 5 years now as part of my routine and its definitely something that I look forward to each week. I usually attend Laughing Elephant Yoga Studio in beautiful East Greenwich, RI since its close to my home. However, over the past couple of weeks, I have tried a couple of classes at Providence Power Yoga on Bassett Street in Providence which I have found that I really enjoy too! If you're in the area and looking for a good class I would definitely check it out!!
If you happen to be in Providence and are new to yoga, then they will have something for you too. Located in the Jewelry district, is a beautiful facility that is clean and welcoming. PPY has parking, fitting rooms and they offer a great introductory package of 30 days for $30 so you can try out a variety of classes.
Personally, I have tried the Heated Hour Vinyasa and the Yoga Sculpt class and I really enjoyed them both. The teachers were great and they offered a variety of modifications for all levels and helpful suggestions.
If you're looking for a challenging workout with weights as an option than the Yoga Sculpt class is definitely for you. I think that is one of the best classes that I have ever taken. I really enjoyed the teachers recommendations and the sequence. Within my own routine, I try to incorporate strength training at least a couple times a week and I could definitely see this class being a part of it. It is a total body workout that touches upon strength, balance, endurance and relaxation all in one class.
Another great class at Providence Power Yoga was the Heated Hour Vinyasa on Saturday mornings from 8 to 9am with JoEllen Hockenbrough. I also really enjoyed this class too, its a great way to get in an early workout and it offered a variety of poses and modifications as well.
Overall, I have really enjoyed all the classes I’ve taken so far and look forward to taking more in the future and hope that you do too!
