Trail Running Vs. Road Running
Trail V Road
Running on the road has it’s benefits and it’s drawbacks, as does running on the trails. There are benefits to both, lets get into a few of them for me.
Trail
Softer Surface, reduce injuries on non-technical trails
Scenic
No traffic to deal with
Can be meditative
Works different muscle groups
Breaks up the monotony of the week
Pace goes out the window
Road
More consistent footing
Great for Tempo Runs or Speed Work
Typically you can run a bit faster
Can also be meditative because you get into a nice rhythm
Easier to navigate
